This 50-minute session will explore the applications of AI for health plans and considerations for health plan adoption of AI-driven tools. Potential panel topics include:

• Use of AI to streamline and improve health plan administrative functions such as claims processing, customer service (e.g., tools for call centers, website chatbots), and data analysis/predictive analytics.
• Considerations for using AI to support functions with clinical implications, such as prior authorization, care coordination, and telehealth/remote monitoring.
• Development and implementation of AI governance, modifications to existing cybersecurity governance, and use of other related risk mitigation strategies.
• Ethical considerations for the use of AI, including disclosures to members/patients.
• Federal and state policymaker interest in the regulation of AI generally and in health care specifically, and the implications for health plan adoption of AI tools.
